macOS: what an install buys, and what it costs
An install pays for itself where the Mac is the machine used every evening. Saved chart layouts, custom indicators and automated strategies belong to the installed terminal, and none of them exist in a browser tab. Since the American session opens in the evening at UTC+5 and runs late, a laptop that stays open on the desk is exactly the case the desktop terminal is built for.
The cost is that the setup lives on that one computer. A trader who moves between a work machine during the day and a personal Mac at night ends up rebuilding layouts, or simply not having them where they are needed.
The two routes are not exclusive. The same account opens in the browser during the day and in the installed terminal at night, and the positions are identical in both — the choice is about tooling, not about access.
